I decided to write about the 5 Easy way to master your French Inspired Valentine’s Day because I normally am not the type of person to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I don’t yearn for flowers (I am allergic, but that’s a story for another post). This time five years ago I would be sitting at home with a bag of chocolates and contemplating what to watch on Hulu or Netflix for the big exciting day. Yes, I love getting romantic gestures the same as the next but I never liked the idea of just celebrating your partner for just one day.
You see, I love L-O-V-E! I love it when everyone around me is happy and excited to be with their partner in crime. The world is a much better place when people are in love vs farting around being pessimistic about the chaos currently happening in politics. Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day in the States or Saint Valentin’s in France, you can follow these 5 simple French Inspired Ideas that will help you master your special day year after year.

1. Have a Stay-Cation at the local hotel in your area
Having a stay-cation is the best to relax and take in all the romance of the holiday without having to leave your local city. A perfect example is the Mas Valentine, a Hotel in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, which is located just 30 minutes from Marseille airport. Getting there will be an absolute breeze for anyone looking for a quick romantic trip.
Parle-Vous Français? Non? No problem! The staff can speak five languages, including English, French, Spanish, and German, so foreigners are in luck. Contact them via phone Tel: +33 (0)184.108.40.206.91 or email at email@example.com. Enjoy a romantic evening with your partner, and book a stay in one of their affordable suites. I personally have stayed in local Airbnb’s while traveling with my baby and dog for a romantic getaway. Believe it or not, romance can still happen even with a baby and dog. Nothing should stand in the way of much needed you time.
With the holidays comes limited hotel options
There are only 13 rooms at this quaint yet romantic hideaway, so you’ll want to book your room sooner than later. I checked recently, and they still have availability for Saint- Valentin. This place is equipped with all your favorite property amenities, including Air Conditioning!!
Yes, air conditioning! Plus soundproof rooms, bathrobes, and a minibar no one can complain about. Not to mention a petit dejeuner on the patio. Personally, I’m not particularly eager to stay in places that do not have outdoor space. There needs to be a patio, or backyard green space, or perhaps a pool. Pre-dog I would book a room with a balcony. Now I opt for a room with a bathtub.
Pro Tip: Only look for hotels that offer outdoor space and breakfast combo along with convenience to a nice restaurant
Sophisticated Dinner at Restaurant de Tourrel
Afterward, treat yourself to a sophisticated dinner at Restaurant de Tourrel. Although on the pricey side ranging from $60-$97 per item, the ratings are second to none considering. The Restaurant is also ranked number one in Saint-Remy-de-Provence. I am happy to report they offer Vegetarian-Friendly, Gluten-Free Options as well to make for a special night for all eaters. If you are a picky eater like myself, you’ll appreciate the wide variety of food options on the menu to choose from.
2. Montpellier French Romantic Guided Tour Special Valentine’s Day
The Guided tour takes place Valentine’s Day from 6 pm to 8 pm local time at 30, allée Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, 34000 MONTPELLIER (show map). This tour is only for couples (2 people, no group option). Now, this may be a deterrent for fellow family travelers, but remember Valentine’s Day is usually reserved as an adult holiday after a certain point in the day. I recommend booking a sister in advance through sitter.com or care.com.
Book a hotel with “babysitting” options.
There are a lot of hotels in France with this option. Call the hotel directly to confirm in advance and provide the dates of when you would like babysitting services. Once you have your babysitting situated. The journey will begin at the Arc de Triomphe, rue Foch, Montpellier. They accept Internet sales up to 1 hour before the guided tour, for a booking at the last minute call on +33 4 67 60 60 60. BOOK NOW

3. Expand your taste buds on a Parisien Boat River Cruise
The Bateaux Parisiens Valentine’s Day River Cruise will be an adventure you will not forget. You will spend three and a half hours aboard the Bateaux Parisien sightseeing while weaving onto the Seine River. You will not know where to look first as your itinerary will be filled with the magic of France once you embark at the Eiffel Tower.
Romance will not be an issue as the live music pours throughout the boat and down the Seine River. Enjoy a beautiful five-course meal with a partner in crime who isn’t afraid to eat. I know I would have my camera ready trying to eat all the food while simultaneously trying to capture all the majestic views around me. How to Book: You can book your trip on their website Bateaux Parisien or by calling +33 (0)1 76 64 14 45. This adventure will not hurt your wallet with pricing starting at $167.17
Pro-tip: If you are not located near a major river or water source you can still achieve this romantic evening by sightseeing in and around your local town on Valentine’s Day
4. Relax and take the pressure off with a Tour of Paris
With Love From Paris, Tours is something I will be checking out when it comes time to see Paris. As you may know, Yannick is from the south of France, so we’ve only explored the South/French Riviera thus far. With Love from Paris describes themselves as an exhilarating group & private experiences designed to shine a new light on the city of Love.
What I love about this company is that they take time to show tourists the real French and their cultural heritage. Whether you are a family with your baby and dog in tow or having a girl’s trip getaway this is the tour you want to book. They will take you through the French Market, or a relaxed picnic in the park. Want something high energy, no problem. An evening at the French cabaret can be arranged. They boast themselves as a tour company where everyone is welcome. Prices range from $65 to $365. Contact them via phone +33 6 87 67 02 99 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pro Tip: Book your tour in advance to ensure your tickets for the special day
5. No Matter the day wine is the answer
I love wine more than I dare admit. It’s one of the activities I always fit in when I’m in France. Bordovino Wine Tasting Day Tours can provide you with romance for a full day of Valentine’s Day fun or half-day, depending on your preference. A small group of 4 couples can treat themselves with provided transport, a chance to see a château, tasting sessions, French/English-speaking tours, and history guides, local food products, and a châteaux route drive. Small group tours start at 49 euros, and the private tour starts at 66 euros.
Want to celebrate the day with your work family. No problem. Bordovino also caters to corporate events. Their service menu is quite impressive https://www.bordovino.com/services.
When Yannick, Jeanne, and Coco and I make our official trip to France in May 2020 we will be checking out the tour in Marseille which is coming soon.
Pro Tip: You can always check out your local brewery if you are not located near a winery.
